So, are you a Christian podcaster? Would you like to start a podcast?

We can help!

You may have seen one of our advertisements like the ones above. If that is the case, wonderful! We are glad you decided to learn more. If this is the first time you are seeing it, we will be explaining everything about it now.

Let me be the first to assure you that you have not read this wrong. Cr101 Radio really does want to help Christian podcasters make being a podcast host easier, and if there are Christians that want to start a podcast but are not familiar with what to do and all that podcasting entails, we can help!

Podcasting is simple overall, but it still costs money to host files, to get your podcast submitted to the top podcast directories like iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, etc. or to get your podcast advertised by others on social media and more.

Here at CR101 Radio, we want to make podcasting as simple as possible. We want to take financial excuses away from Godly Christians that would produce a podcast or start one, but they believe that the cost associated with this endeavor is higher than they are able to pay or are willing to pay. We want to take the technical know-how excuses away from Godly Christians that believe the whole process to be beyond them which causes them not to add their voices and content to the podcast community. We want to take away the time excuse from Godly Christians who believe that they do not have the time to record, edit, upload, advertise, and post their content. In short, we believe that Christian podcasts are an evangelical tool that can be used to help to spread the gospel, and to edifying the Christian community as a whole.

So, let’s go over the specifics of what you can expect if you join CR101 Radio.

Free Audio/File Hosting:

CR101 Radio uses the Podcast.co platform to host the primary audio files for each podcast. This company specializes in podcast hosting and has a robust platform that includes podcast analytics and much more. CR101 Radio has an account with Podcast.co and each new podcast is included on this account. This service, and all that goes with it, is FREE for each podcast host.

A secondary copy of each podcast’s audio files are backed-up and stored on an S3 Amazon server. Image files that are used for various purposes are also stored on this server as well. This secondary back-up server is FREE for each podcast host as well.

Lastly, Image files associated with each podcast are saved on the WordPress servers that host the CR101 Radio website. The costs associated with this service and the maintenance of the CR101 website are also FREE to each podcast host.

It will be assumed and understood that the podcast host will maintain the original copies of their own files and all files used given to CR101 Radio are to be considered only back-up copies of the host’s original files. CR101 Radio is not responsible for keeping secure copies of audio or image files. This is the responsibility of each podcast host.

All of these services that are FREE to each host are FREE and CR101 Radio will never ask any host to pay to help cover the cost of these services. FREE really does mean FREE.

Free Social Media Promotions:

CR101 Radio has social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. There are a number of ways that CR101 Radio attempts to promote each podcast on multiple platforms.

Facebook: FB is one of the major social media sites that can be useful to help promote a podcast and help others see that content. With every new podcast episode, after it has been upload to the Podcast.co servers and added to the CR101 Radio webste page specific to that podcast, a post is made advertising to all those that follow the CR101 Radio FB page. Paid promotions are also done to further help promote these posts as financing allows, which greatly increases the number of persons that are exposed to each podcast’s content. It is advised that each podcast host also creates its own FB page where they can promote their podcast content as well. This is not required, but it is always better to also build the podcast platform up by gathering fans via social media like FB. Each podcast host can maintain their own FB page, or they can also grant permissions to CR101 Radio personnel so they can help post content to this page as well. This once again is not a requirement, but some podcast hosts may find it more convenient. Ownership of these pages is understood to be that of the podcast host, and they alone have full decisional control of what happens with this type of page.

Twitter: Twitter is another major platform that can be of great use to a podcast host. It is one that can be used once again to attract fans and to interact with them. CR101 Radio can also embed a Twitter feed onto the podcast page on the CR101 Radio website and those visiting their page can also see any posts that have been made on Twitter, etc. Using this platform is not a requirement of course, but if a podcast host wants to promote their content the more they can interact with fans on social media platforms the better. As mentioned with the FB platform, a podcast host is responsible for managing these accounts and deciding what content to post to them.

Instagram: CR101 Radio has an Instagram account that is used to advertise new podcast episodes. Each podcast host will not have access to this account but does have the ability to decide what is posted on this account on their behalf or not. In addition to advertising new episodes, CR101 Radio also uses this IG account to post image quotes from each episode. Podcast hosts can choose up to four direct quotes from their episodes and Cr101 Radio will turn these into image quotes that can be used to further promote the podcast and give people an idea of what each episode contains. These are great for promoting interest and these can be shared on social media easily to further seek out new fans. If a podcast host has its own IG account or not is up to them. As always, the host of each podcast is responsible for deciding what they want to do or not do.

Youtube: In addition to simply posting content to FB, Twitter, and IG CR101 Radio also has a YouTube account. Simple videos are created using the audio of each podcast episode. This allows each podcast host to have their content also available on one of the most popular platforms on the internet, that being Youtube. This is lumped in with Social Media Promotions but is more of an additional platform than it is simply advertising. These videos are created for FREE as well and will be uploaded into their own Playlist on the CR101 Radio Youtube channel. This also makes it easy for those interesed to see all of the videos from each podcast easily.

All of these accounts will be posted on the CR101 Radio website page of each podcast. This allows those interested in a specific podcast to be able to follow or connect with all the social media accounts.

Free Airtime on 24/7 Internet Radio:

Cr101 Radio is primarily a 24/7 Christian internet radio station. The Cr101 Radio Station can be listened to by anyone with a computer or smartphone right from the CR101 Radio website. There is also a dedicated CR101 Radio app for IOS and Android that allows people to listen to the radio station anytime they wish right from their phones or tablets. This internet radio station airs lectures, sermons, and podcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is always something for someone to lisen to.

Podcast hosts will have their content added to the lineup on the CR101 Radio Station that will further help people hear this content. This is also FREE to each podcast host. As you can understand running a 24/7 internet radio station costs money, but hosts will never be asked to help cover these costs either.

Free Submission to the Top Podcast Directories:

You may know this already or you may not, but podcasts can be more easily found by submitting the RSS feed of a podcast to directories that make it possible for people on various podcasting platforms to find and listen to your material. iTunes is probably the most popular, but there are many many other podcast directories. Setting up and submitting a podcast to various directories can be a difficult and tedious process. With the Podcast.co platform all of this is automated. Once we set up a new podcast on the CR101 Radio account it is assigned an RSS feed that Podcast.co uses to submit that podcast to various directories.

The current list of directories that each podcast will be submitted to and available on are iTunes, Android, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Acast, Tune In, Breaker, and Pocket Casts.

If a podcast ever leaves the CR101 Radio platform the host will be able to port their current content by the RSS feed using whatever new service they choose.

If you join the CR101 Radio podcast team this is about all you will need. We will help you do the rest. We strive to make running a successful podcast as simple as possible.

Conclusion:

If all this sounds too good to be true, it’s not. Most organizations must ask you to pay for their services and products because without those they can not continue providing the product or services that they offer. Others provide free services, but then proceed to ask for donations, because without these donations they can not continue to provide the products or services that they offer. CR101 Radio will not ask podcast hosts to pay for any of the services they take advantage of, nor will they be asked to donate money. CR101 Radio is fully backed by the GCS Apprenticeship Program making it possible to provide all of these products and serices for free. We believe that the world will be a better place when Christians get serious about sharing their faith, teaching others, and helping fellow Christians understand how to live and glorify God in all they do.
