Galatians 4:16
16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Paul in his letter to the Galatians wrote in Galatians 4:16 “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
Young children are full of imagination and make-believe, and for them to be so is both entertaining and endearing to see. For young children to spend their time in “their own little worlds” is harmless and creativity and make-believe can even be and should be encouraged.
Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy are two little make-believe stories that many times both adults and children both participate in. Santa Claus bringing presents on Christmas and the Tooth Fairy placing money or treats under a child’s pillow when they lose a tooth can be both fun and entertaining.
For the typical parent, though they may participate in this collective make-believe, they themselves do not believe Santa Claus to be a REAL individual nor the Tooth Fairy to be a REAL individual. The parent, when asked by their child, “Is Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy real?” will responsibly say, “No, mother and father buy presents for you and wrap them before we place them under the tree. And we are the ones who come in at night when you are sleeping and remove your tooth from under your pillow and place the money or treats.”
Can you imagine the idea that parents would actually attempt to convince their children that a strange hermit that lives in the non-inhabitable northern parts of the world is watching their every action through an elaborate covert world-wide child-only surveillance system? At the end of a year’s worth of invasive surveillance this frozen tundra hermit along with his wife will determine if their behavior is either good or ill. They will prepare a fitting response to the child’s collective actions and this hermit will come to their home in the middle of the night when everyone in the house is sleeping, he will creep in unaware down an impossible entryway down the chimney, and he will give the child what he believes they deserve…such a notion is unsettling and disturbing rather than something to look forward to each year.
Then there is the idea that an aged mythical creature with wings will fly into the child’s bedroom while they sleep and replace their tooth under their pillow with money or treats. Why does a mythical creature pay cash for teeth that have fallen out? What are they doing with them? If they are paying cash for human teeth what other human body parts are they willing to pay for? Is this just one small part of a larger mythical creature human body part black market? What happens if the tooth they find under the pillow has a cavity? Does the quality and condition of the tooth change the monetary or confectionary compensation given? What will they do if the child places a fake tooth under the pillow trying to get something for nothing? What happens when the child stops constantly contributing to the Child Tooth Black Market? Will the Fairy stop waiting for them to be willingly given and just start taking teeth if they have fallen out or not?
Thankfully, the typical parent does not actually try to convince their child that there is a Frozen Hermit Child Stalker of Justice that actually exists, or that there really is a Child Organ Black Market operated by Mythical Creatures.
They know it is all just make-believe. And this is the way it should be.
For parents to deliberately mislead and lie to their children is harmful and evil. For them to allow others to mislead and lie to their children is harmful and evil.
But, this is exactly what is happening in our world today. There is a systematic effort to convince children that the world is not what it really is. This effort is spearheaded by individuals that hate God, His creation, and ultimately even themselves. Since they can not kill God, they can not escape God, nor can they escape themselves, what are they left to do?
It is simple. They decide to deny God’s existence just as one would deny they can see by closing their eyes. This does not actually make them blind, they instead decide to voluntarily blind themselves lest they see God. They deny the created order and decide to believe in a world born from chaos and destruction. They finally decide to pervert themselves both morally and physically. They attempt to do everything they can to defile the image of God that they were made in.
Man in his rebellion is not content with just doing this to himself and for himself. He is irresistibly driven to convince others to join him, by force if necessary.
This is why they come for the children. Your children and mine.
In their rush to destroy themselves they find themselves unable to reproduce and have children of their own. In fact to have children of their own would be to participate in God’s created order and this is something they would rather die than do. So, they must come after other people’s children.
Christians need to become teachers because children are not safe from the suicidal corrupt make-believe miseducation that these self-defiled wish to ensnare them with. They want to not only defile children’s minds but also want to defile their bodies as well. It starts with them trying to convince children to join them willingly. Willingly rejecting God and His world. Willingly perverting themselves both morally and physically. But, if they can not accomplish their goals through evangelism, they are willing and prepared to do so through coercion and force if necessary.
Christian parents first and foremost need to teach their children the truth about God, His world, and about themselves and their duties under God. Then Christian teachers need to do the same to their students as well.
The darkness can never thrive in the light. The darkness is not more powerful than the light and it never can be. The only time the darkness seems to prevail is when no one turns on the light.
We must tell the truth. And for those that are at war with God and themselves they will see us as their enemy. But, our children and students will see us as the bearers of truth and life which we hope to pass on to them.
In order for us to protect our children from the darkness of corrupt men we must trust God, obey His commandments and teach others to do so as well. By doing this we will drive away the darkness from our children and our communities and push them back into the holes they have dug for themselves and be left with nothing but their own misery and loneliness awaiting judgment from the God that they so desperately desired to deny and rebel against.
Do not fear the darkness. Just remember to turn on the light of God’s Word.
