Green Bean Ingredients:
1lb. Fresh Green Beans (cleaned and trimmed)
1 ½ cups of AP Flour
¾ cup cornstarch
1 ½ tbsp Baking Powder
2 cups of Club Soda (cold)
2 tsp. Toasted Sesame Oil
½ tsp. Kosher Salt
¼ tsp. White Pepper
2 Eggs (beaten)
Frying Oil (3” in pot)
Directions:
1 - In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and white pepper.
2 - Add the club soda, the toasted sesame oil, and the two eggs to the mixing bowl and whisk together until no lumps remain.
3 - Wash and trim the green beans.
4 - Heat your oil to 375 degrees.
5 - Fully dip the green beans in the batter. Shake off the excess. Place each green bean into the oil one at a time. Be careful not to overcrowd the pot. Allow to cook 2-3 minutes and be sure to rotate the green beans so that they are cooked on all sides.
6 - Once the batter turns a nice light brown color they are done.
7 - Remove the green beans from the oil and place them on a wire rack to dry fully.
8 - Sprinkle them with salt as desired and enjoy!
